It came from outer waste!
In the headlines this morning ~ as much as half of all the food produced in the world - two billion tonnes worth - ends up being thrown away.
Some wag replies, "this is something you can't blame the poor for!"
Actually I think you'll find you can. (Or I can anyway. Hold the horses!) You see my dear crumpet muffins, the less well off are known for eating rubbish, they are the first in line at those dreadful fastfood bins... sorry establishments. If they ate better, indeed 'real' food they would not get as hungry and would waste less.
A plate filled with a pile of cheap garbage is not satisfying. An hour later the diner is snacking on something else (equally as putrid.) Throughout the week this habit builds up a tidy amount of waste (mainly because it might be cheap but its still garbage and theres only so much anyone can take.) You won't find this much waste with a good, wholesome meal that has been prepared with care and quality in mind. Good things are 'keepers', bad things are looked upon with a certain amount of disdain and aare easily discarded. This is as true for a decent meal as it is for pretty trinkets and clothes.
