appreciate talent before it is seen by millions, then all hope for up and coming talent is doomed. Beside the odd one or two who are discovered by whatever means, the rest sail down the plug hole. And nobody seems to care. What a pathetic state for creative and gifted people to be in! The odd patch of cream gets to rise, whilst mostly the rest sink into oblivion. I used to think that social media would change this. Now? Im not so sure.
Write? Paint? Sing? Start a page on Facebook showing off your talent. See how many 'Likes' you get. Win some idiotic X Factor type show and within days, you will be the proud owner of hundreds of thousands of *Thumbs Up* but try doing it your own way however and you will be lucky if those thumbs get above 500. Its hugely frustrating too because your art could be just as good (or even better) than those warbling on television but without the TVs backing? You don't stand a chance. And don't forget, these people who ignore you, would be the first ones to 'like' you (Facebook style) if only you'd appeared on ITV or the BBC.
Heifers hooked on Pringles with minds leaking over the greasy kitchen floor. These are the shells we need to break but most days it all feels so futile. We are but one click away from appreciation but alas the words and music are lost among what is popular, and what is backed by television studios. The underground poetry and songs will seldom reach the masses and its lost anyway because unless these fleshy herds are told by media to 'like' something (still Facebook style) then the poets and singers will never be liked (in or out of Facebook.)
